This Top Load Washer Clutch Assembly drives the drum during the spin portion of the wash cycle. If your clothes are still soaked after spinning, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. This kit includes (1) clutch assembly, (1) brake cam driver, (2) springs, (1) retaining ring, (1) baring and installation instructions. Note that the blue spring should be used in large-capacity washers; the black spring is for use in compact washing machines. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. Recommended Item: The appliance's Repair Manual (item 4313896) is a useful reference when replacing this part. Helpful Tip: Also consider replacing the motor coupling (item 1195967) while you have the washing machineâs cabinet removed. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner Tablets* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
