This Dryer Cycling Thermostat monitors and regulates the temperature inside the dryer. If the cycling thermostat is no longer working properly, you may notice that your dryer will not heat. Note that this part is not typically the cause of the dryer not heating; a multimeter (item 964740) can be used to test for continuity to determine if the thermostat is defective and requires replacement. Refer to the Repair Help section on the Whirlpool Parts website for additional repair information. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dryer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. The cycling thermostat is located in the back of the appliance.
